These past few weeks are mostly a blur.
It started Holy Saturday (two and a half weeks ago) when Jo woke up with a fever, sore throat and body aches. She stayed in bed most of the day, surrounded by blankets and books. Despite my best efforts to contain and disinfect, the nasty bug made its way to the rest of us.
The girls' Easter Break Week involved an involuntary stay-cation full of drinking mug after mug of honey water, soaking in hot baths, constant searching for a clean handkerchief, and more than our usual share of netflix instant watching.
There's been multiple Target runs to re-stock on cough drops, Vick's VapoRub, and children's tylenol. We've been running the humidifiers nightly and we were in dire need of new filters. Thank goodness for Amazon. We've changed our toothbrushes and washed all the bedding and stuffed animals.
In the end, I battled my first bout of strep throat (thank you, penicillin) and Cokes got strange red bumps on her face that scabbed over.
Somehow, Baby Mallory has remained remarkably cheerful and healthy. I keep trying to catch her happy baby babbling and first lilting laughs on video - all to no avail. As soon as I turn on the camera she stops and zones into the blinking red light. But I'll keep trying.
