After two days on the road we arrived at our destination. Grammy and Pop Pop were ready and waiting for us. Jo and Cokes slipped into new swim suits and jumped in the pool. We got our first taste of fresh gulf shrimp - even better than we remembered. After a pork chop dinner Jo asked to go for a bike ride and Cokes wanted to hit the beach to gather sea shells for her classmates. It was a good thing the girls were so ambitious that first afternoon.
Monday was stormy. Lightning, thunder, sheets of rain and mighty gusts of wind kept us indoors, coloring and painting, reading and catching up on sleep.
Today the sun came out. We spent the day soaking up Florida sunshine, jumping the gulf waves and building sea shell island. Mallory was the only one reluctant to dig in the sand...something to do with contaminating her two favorite fingers.
