Here we are. The eve of October and the coming autumn glory. Our most favorite season. I peeled the makeshift shade off the skylight today and immediately the kitchen was bathed in golden sunlight.
The big girls have settled back into the school day routine. Mallory is just about settled into 3K. She was a bit disappointed that going to school did not equate to playing with her big sisters for hours on end. While the older three are at school Gloria and I have begun daily walks to neighborhood parks. On lucky days Dad joins us too. Gloria is happiest outdoors - holding my hand and running through the grass or riding in the red wagon. Gloria loves to dance (wiggling her bottom and bopping her head) and sing (mainly gibberish). She has also kidnapped Mallory's baby doll and Coryn's purse. She carries both of them around the house like a pint sized mother.
While her first words (Mama, Dada, No) were months ago, just this week Gloria's vocabulary has taken off. She can say:
Hi! Yes! Please! Cheese! Up! Out! Down! More! Book! Shoes! Open! Apple! Help! Bye-Bye, Night-Night, JoJo and her newest phrase is: Thank You!
Coryn's memory always amazes me. She remembers watching The Dancing Princesses movie on Netflix ages ago and requested watching it again. Of course its no longer available on Netflix. When I found the box set of Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theater online, childhood memories of library visits came flooding back. We're looking forward to Friday Family Movie Nights all snuggled up under cozy blankets.
