All weekend Coryn was hopeful she could play "Glafcke Family Restaurant." Sunday afternoon she asked once more and I said yes.
Quickly she and her sisters set to work. They checked the fridge and pantry and then created adult and children's menus with a list of options for drinks, appetizers, snacks, meals and desserts.
Matt and I sat down in the sunroom while the girls waited on us and got busy in the kitchen preparing food. They cheerfully served us dinner.
This posture of receiving what is being offered to me is something I'm trying to practice more. And what great joy it brings.
Not only did I get a break from preparing a meal for our family, but I was reminded how capable and creative our girls are.
At the end of the meal, Coryn presented us with the bill:
She wrote:
Your total payment:
2 hugs and one kiss each
