God provides
Since we've arrived in Louisiana, Daniel has yet to sleep thru the night.
Undoubtedly he is growing by leaps and bounds.
Over half of the clothes I packed for him he has already outgrown.
By the hand of God, clothing donations keep showing up here at the community house.
Any of the missionaries are welcome to look through the donations and take home whatever their family could use.
One week there were several pairs of baby boy shorts and pants in the next size we needed for Daniel.
The following week I found tops and shoes for him.
This weekend there was exactly one baby boy sleeper in his size.
I snagged the sleeper for Daniel along with a pink canister of medicated baby powder for myself.
I have been plagued all week long with the same itchy skin infection the girls suffered through a few weeks ago. Even with taking Benedryl before bedtime the intensity of itchiness prevented me from falling asleep. Last night I slathered myself with the medicated powder and slept soundly until Daniel's usual 3am wake-up.
Today is World Mission Sunday.
This morning we shared coffee and chatted while the kids played Clue at a new friend's home.
At noon we went to Spanish mass and listened to two missionaries giving testimonies.
Across town we attended a baptism of another new friend.
During the late afternoon Matt and I took a stroll and all of us were invited for an impromptu bonfire at yet another friend's home.
Our days are full.
And the Lord continues to provide.
Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and shield.
Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.
-Psalm 33: 20-22
