For Jojo’s 13th birthday, August
25th, we had homemade french toast for breakfast, with ice cream on
top. Yum! After breakfast cleanup, we all sat down in the living room and watched
Jojo open her presents. She got two dresses and two shirts from our grandma, a
gift card for Old Navy from her godmother, 3 books, a sketchbook, and paint
pens from her parents, birthday money from her great grandma (which she used to
buy roller blades), and nail polish from me, her little sister!
After presents, all four girls went to roller blade
in the recreational area of the camp where we are staying. After rollerblading
for an hour and painting our nails, we drove to Rock & Bowl in Lafayette,
and bowled there for an hour. We almost finished two games, one which Jojo won,
and the other which our dad won. For lunch, we had pizza at Deano’s, because of
a recommendation from our friend Drew. For dessert we tried fried oreos. The
cookies are fried in dough, drizzled with chocolate and caramel. They were
delicious!
After lunch we stopped at the main library in
Lafayette and looked around. It was a huge library!! Before going back home we
visited Saint John the Evangelist Cathedral. It was a very beautiful and super
super tall! Back at home we had a dinner of mashed potatoes and meatloaf. For
dessert we had traditional (a birthday tradition for Jojo and I’s birthdays)
red velvet cakeballs, with almond bark icing, and ice cream on the side.Yum! We
are so blessed to have Josephine Theresa as part of our missionary family!!! J
