"Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
-Acts 2:38
Yesterday Gwendolyn Regina Glafcke, the newest member of our family, was baptized by Fr. Don at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church here in Abbeville. Her godparents are our friends and former teammates in Haiti, Armando Gutierrez and Amanda Moncada.
Her grandparents came all the way from Wisconsin to be there, and we were very blessed to have Gwendolyn baptized in the beautiful church.
Gwen was very small, as she was 4 days old when she was baptized, but she did not cry or even flinch when Fr. Don poured the water over her head, and she was reborn in Jesus Christ, claimed as priest, prophet, and king for the Lord.
“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”
-Galatians 3:26-27
It was a wonderful and joyous occasion such as we have experienced many times, but it is always unique and so amazing every time. We are happy to introduce the newest member of our family, Gwendolyn Regina, to the Church and our faith as Catholic missionaries!
