Bedtime Story by Dad

Way back at the beginning of April, Jo and Coryn asked Matt to read The Indian in the Cupboard before bed. So began a new bedtime tradition - PJs on, teeth brushed and then Matt read a chapter (or two) of the book.

Each night the girls listened intently as Matt read the story of Omri and his toys that come to life. When Matt finished the book, Jo cried. She was so SO sad the story was over. The always industrious Cokes rummaged around our bookshelf and found the sequel, The Return of the Indian. Last night they finished it. The books were Matt's (& Andrew's) when they were young.  Today my job is to hunt down book #3 at the library: The Secret of the Indian.

I'll be looking for a few other books as well. Matt's friend from the Rome Center started a new blog about good reads for young children. Check it out here: http://mrgallslibrary.wordpress.com/

How wonderful that the tradition lives on!
