A story of faith by Josephine

When we were in Mexico, every night we would go to a rancho outside of the town to sing and share The Word of God. A few people would share their testimonies as well.

One night our group wen to a rancho called Ojo de Agua, or in English "Fountain of Water."

Our Spanish speaker, Marcos, got out of the van and invited a couple farmers to come to the chapel for prayer. They said they would come, so we drove to the chapel and rang the bell over and over. A man came running to the chapel and told us his name:
Jesús, but he told us to call him Chuy.

We were inspired by this man's faith to come running when the bell rang. That first night in Ojo de Agua, Chuy led us to different houses and introduced us to families for us to invite to the chapel for prayer. Even though it was a very cold night we had an amazing turn out! There were about 25 people who came including some children.

The next day we returned to Ojo de Agua and Chuy led us around again to invite people to the chapel. But this time something happened.

While our friend Colleen was giving her testimony, Chuy slumped over and then he fell to the floor. We paused and gathered around him to pray over him. His mother was there and she told us Chuy was having a seizure. After we prayed over him, another missionary named Rachel gave Chuy a rosary. At first he could not hold onto it, but then his hands picked it up and he began to pray. In his suffering he turned to God for help. This was a testimony in itself that especially in hard times we should turn to God and God will help us.
